Hey bookworms! Once again I am super late in posting, but I am catching up. I don’t normally make resolutions because I end up forgetting all about them in a few months, however I am determined to try these out. If I don’t succeed this year them I will carry them over for next year and so forth. So here are my 2020 reading goals.
Actually read school textbooks
I want to actually read through a textbook and not just skim the chapters last minute as I prepare for an exam. I want to make time to sit down and read them and take notes. And so far I am horrible at this. After a while I get bored or distracted.
Read more lengthy books
Big books intimidate me. There I said it. If it exceeds 450 pages, I get spooked and then I either never finish them or it takes me literal months to finish. I think Winter from the Lunar Chronicles took me a year to finish. I would keep getting discouraged because of how long it was and feeling as if I barely made a dent in it. I want to introduce more big books and stop being so intimidated by them.
Finish A Court of Thorns and Roses Trilogy
This could go hand-in-hand with the last goal since the size of these books is what’s keeping me from finishing them. That and the fact that I’ve tried to finish this series for so long it’s time for me to suck it up and finish. I’ve reread ACOTAR too many times not to continue.
Read more critically
I wan to be able to really read a book at a higher level (if that makes sense). For example I want to be able to read a book and really understand it/ be able to draw better conclusions when reviewing.
Read non-fiction books related to school
What I’m trying to say is I want to read more psychology/human services books that aren’t necessarily textbooks. I have a few but haven’t really brought myself to read them.
Well those are my 2020 reading goals! What are some of your reading goals? Let me know 🙂
