ACOTAR: The Courts as Smoothie Bowls (w/ recipes)

Hey bookworms! This has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I’ve been wanting to make/find some bookish themed treats but all I was able to find were already done a bajillion times and quite overrated (ahem, butterbeer, “Drink Me/ Eat Me” treats[my beloved], Turkish delights, etc.). Now lately I’ve been trying to switch to a healthier lifestyle meaning I’ve been researching many recipes and one category are smoothie bowls. I chose A Court of Thorns and Roses series because I’m currently reading the books and the aesthetics of the courts are fresh in my mind.

Now without a further adieu (because I get very annoyed when recipes have a 10000000 paged essay before the actual recipe and I don’t want to do the same), let’s begin.

*Note: most bowls are vegan (to my knowledge) and some may contain nuts (which can be substituted with something else)

Night Court

I unfortunately could not find the recipe for this bowl but doesn’t it scream Night Court? The stars, the dark colors, and swirls…

Day Court

When I think of the Day Court I think of golden tones which this mango bowl perfectly resembles.

Recipe:

  • 100g/3.5oz frozen mango pulp
  • 200g/7oz Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 a banana

Blend all 3 ingredients until smooth and top off with blueberries, pineapple chunks, coconut flakes and granola.

Day Court

I think of peachy/pink shades when I think of the day court and I found this rose and raspberry bowl.

Recipe:

  • 1 large frozen banana
  • 1/2 teaspoon rose water
  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 almond milk (or whichever you prefer)

Blend all ingredients until smooth and top with dragon fruit balls. The pink berries in the picture are for decoration only.

Winter Court

I unfortunately couldn’t find the recipe for this either but isn’t it gorgeous?? The jelly jewels are so pretty! Anyway, Winter court reminds me of ice blues and sharp edges.

Autumn Court

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons so the autumn court reminds me of orange, brown, and deep red hues bu mainly orange.

Recipe: (Nut Allergy Warning)

  • 150 g / 5 1/2 oz frozen mango
  • 75 g / 2 1/2 oz frozen pineapple
  • 75 g / 2/ 1/2 oz fresh papaya
  • 200 ml / 7fl oz freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric

Blend ingredients until smooth and top with fresh balled melon or papaya, orange slices, coconut flakes, cashew nuts, Goji berries, and passion fruit seeds.

Spring Court

Spring Court reminds me of lots of greens with a pop of color.

Recipe:

  • 1 large banana, frozen
  • about 1 cup ice cubes
  • ¼ cup almond milk (or any other milk of your choice)
  • 1 tsp. spirulina powder

Blend all ingredients together until smooth and top off with blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and mint leaves.

Summer Court

And finally we have the Summer court which reminds me of the ocean and bright colors.

Recipe:

  • 2 bananas, chopped and frozen
  • 1 cup white grapes, chopped and frozen
  • 1 cup of coconut milk (can sub almond or regular)
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 3/4 teaspoon of Blue Majik

Blend all ingredients together (except Blue Majik) until smooth and then add in Blue Majik and blend again. Top off with cantaloupe balls, kiwi stars, blueberries, and flowers (for decoration).

Hope you enjoyed these recipes and please let me know if you have tried any of them! I’m trying to decide which I want to try first!

Which court would you belong to? I think I’d belong in the the Night Court simply because I’m a night owl.
