Hey Bookworms!
I originally saw this on Thrice Read’s blog and decided to share my own reading habits. Hope you enjoy!
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Not necessarily. I’ll read anywhere on anything, but mostly on my bed.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Bookmark. I have made myself tons of bookmarks and the only time I’ll use a random piece of paper is if I just bought it and I want to read it right away. Only then will I use a receipt for a bookmark.
Can you stop reading anytime or do you have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part, etc.?
It really depends on my mood. Sometimes I can stop anywhere and other times I have to stop at the start of a new chapter.
Do you eat or drink while you read?
Unless I’m reading at during a meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.), I don’t really eat or drink while reading.
Can you read while listening to music/watching TV?
Definitely can’t watch TV and read, maybe during the commercials but even then I get distracted. I can definitely read while listening to music (that’s pretty much how I create my bookish playlists).
One book at a time or several at once?
As of late, I’ve been reading several at once. In a way it helps me avoid a reading slump. If I get bored with one book I can pick up where I left off in another book.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere.
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
I prefer reading in my head because I hate the sound of my voice, but sometimes I’ll read under my breath if that counts as reading aloud.
Do you read ahead or skip pages?
Maybe once or twice before because I had to know what happened (which I would later regret).
Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
Keep it new for sure. Middle school me was the one who broke the spines left and right and adult me cringes at the sight of the books she damaged.
Do you write in books?
Heck, NO! I can’t stand this one and if you do this you do you boo, but this makes me cringe so hard. If I ever want to note something, I’ll write in on a sticky note and mark the page.
Let me know what some of your reading habits.
Until next time!
