Greetings and Salutations Bookworms!
I know these past two weeks I have not done a Top 5 Wednesday. The reason being is that I did not have any content for either prompt. Week one was favorite M/M couples and week two was favorite F/F couples. It made me realize I don’t read enough LGBTQ+ novels or novels where the main character is a part of the community. If you have any suggestions at all please let me know.
Favorite Romance Novels
— Romance as a genre is very under-appreciated in lots of circles. So recommend your favorite romance books. These are books where romance is the main genre, not a secondary one–
Maybe This Time – Jennifer Crusie
This is probably the first romance book I’ve ever read. To be honest, I may have been a little young for this, but I didn’t think it would be full on Romance until there was a small intimate scene.
Dear John – Nicholas Sparks
I didn’t even know this was a book until I found it at the store. Back before my sister was married and had kids, we would watch sappy rom-coms on Valentine’s day eating ice cream and ordering heart shaped pizza. This is one of the movie we would watch. If not this then A Walk to Remember (which still makes me bawl my eyes out).
Water For Elephants – Sarah Gruen
I still remember the day my sister (the same sister as the point before) and I went to go watch this at the theaters. At the time I had a huge crush on Robert Pattinson. Same with Dear John I didn’t know this was a book until after I watched the movie and you bet I bought and read it. I ended up giving my best friend my copy, but I may buy it again.
Hold Me Now – Addison Moore
I mention this one a lot and well, it’s become a favorite of mine.
The Royal Treatment – Melanie Summers
I can’t remember what book I read before this that I was in a royal family mood. In a way it reminded me of The Princess Diaries where a girl goes from a ‘nobody’ to a princess. This book was so funny and I did feel a lot of second-hand embarrassment.
I didn’t think I would actually have books for this prompt. I thought it was going to be short list.
Let me know what are some of your favorite romance novels.
Until next time!
