Bookish Playlist 2: NeverSea

Greetings and Salutations, your ghost with the most here with another bookish playlist.

In a previous post, I mentioned that the release date for NeverSea was December 12th (which is what Goodreads has), but after receiving an email from the author, I was made aware that the release date was yesterday (November 30th). You can read my review here.

I will try my best not to include major spoilers, but just in case, beware of spoilers.

  1. Dead End Justice- Runaways
    • one of those songs I kept listening to while reading
  2. Lost Boys – The Courtneys
    • The song itself is about the 80s vampire film, but I couldn’t help but tie it to the Lost Boys in the novel
  3. Doing Alright with the Boys – Joan Jett
    • This reminded me of Wendi, who lives with the Lost Boys
  4. The Chain – Fleetwood Mac
    • I could picture this song playing as these two characters were forced apart and in a way it reminded me of when the same song was played in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It’s a powerful song about unity and never ‘breaking the chain’ that binds people together
  5. Army of Me – Bjork
    • There’s a battle going on and once again I’m reminded of a movie scene where this song is played (think Suckerpunch – badass ladies fighting)
  6. Wanted Dead or Alive – Bon Jovi
    • Peter’s theme song – that’s all
  7. Danger Zone – Kenny Logggins
    • Seems like a pretty cool song to have during a war/battle scene
  8. Sweet Little Sister – Skid Row
    • A song that describes Arya and Peter’s relationship
    • Key phrases:

I know a thing or two about, sweet little sister

Her mom would kill her if she knew what she do, sweet little sister

She’ll love ya black and blue, sweet little sister

  1. I’m on My Way – The Proclaimers
    • They’re on their way… to save Neverland
  2. Poor Unfortunate Souls – Pat Carroll
    • I couldn’t help myself. I had to put a Little Mermaid song in here. However, the song does tie in to a certain character…
  3. One Way or Another – Blondie
    • And last but not least – Arya’s theme song! A badass song for a badass genetically mutated mermaid

And there you have it, my NeverSea playlist. If you like fairytale retellings, Peter Pan, or the Little Mermaid, check out this series, which is now available on Kindle.

Thanks for tuning in. Stay jolly my friends,
